Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, you and your therapist will define the focus of the work together. It may involve problematic drinking, dissatisfaction with your life situation, relationship struggles, or personal identity. You might be going through a life crisis or simply want to understand yourself more deeply.

This form of therapy is ideal if you are dealing with risky use or harmful patterns involving alcohol, drugs, sex, or gambling. In sessions, you’ll work with your therapist to explore the underlying causes of the behavior and develop strategies to build long-term recovery.

The number of sessions is decided in collaboration with your therapist.

Therapy is a space for reflection and healing, offering guidance and support through life’s challenges. It provides a chance to get to know yourself on a deeper level, make peace with your past, and move toward more intentional choices. Many clients experience greater peace, a deeper sense of meaning, and increased emotional freedom.

Our therapeutic approach is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychosynthesis, offering both emotional processing and practical planning for your future.

Common Themes in Therapy:

Couples Therapy

Living in a relationship where one or both partners have struggled with addiction often leads to damage and dysfunction. Trust issues are common, and in some cases, emotional — and even physical — abuse may have occurred. Rebuilding a broken relationship takes work, commitment, and courage — but there is hope.

Our experience shows that it is possible to rebuild trust and love in a relationship, provided both partners are willing to take responsibility for their part in the dynamic.

It’s easy to focus solely on the person with the addiction, but for the partner, it can also be important to explore attachment patterns, past destructive relationships, low self-esteem, and the inability to set healthy boundaries. In many cases, we recommend combining couples therapy with individual therapy for one or both partners.

In couples therapy, we work together to identify destructive patterns, raise awareness around each person’s emotions and needs, and strengthen the foundation of the relationship.

You’ll be guided in empathetic, non-judgmental communication, learning to express feelings and needs clearly. Often, this process helps couples rebuild trust and continue their relationship.

In other cases, therapy leads to the decision to separate — and in these cases, couples therapy can help ensure the separation is handled in a peaceful and respectful way. If children are involved, this motivation often becomes even stronger — to create a healthy dynamic regardless of whether the relationship continues or not.
